For the first time since the 2019-2020 season, the Green Bay Phoenix men are above .500, after steamrolling Robert Morris 78-61.  After his career high 39 point outing on Friday, Noah Reynolds paced all scorers once again, dropping an impressive 27 points on the Colonials on New Year’s Eve.

Green Bay started slow, as RMU started the game up 9-4 just after the first media timeout.  The Phoenix would storm back, leading by as much as eight in the first half before Robert Morris would wind up tying it back up, and going on to take a half time lead 34-32 halftime lead.

The second half with the back and forth action, as the Phoenix would take a 41-40 lead at the first media break.  After that though, it was all Green Bay. The Phoenix shot 62% from the floor in the 2nd half. Newcomers Marcus Hall and Foster Wonders both came off the bench and chipped in double digit scoring lines as well, with 10 and 13 points respectively.  Elijah Jones added in 12 points from the starting 5 to go along side Reynolds’ 27 points.

The Phoenix have now won three in a row, which according to Lou Brown in Major League 2, is officially a winning streak and it has happened before.  Green Bay moves to 3-1 in Horizon League play and as mentioned above 8-7 on the season, above .500 for the first time since the end of the Linc Darner era in the 2019-2020 season.  Green Bay will head to the greater Detroit area next weekend, starting with a contest on Thursday night against the currently winless Detroit Mercy Titans.  Tipoff will be at 6pm CT.
