A battle between two of the top teams in the Horizon League had the Resch Center rocking down to the final minutes, where Green Bay was able to avenge an early conference season loss to Oakland, taking the Golden Grizzlies to Club Dub with 69-59 win.

Both teams traded blows through the first half in a defensive battle.  Green Bay was able to hold Oakland to 10-25 shooting, but the Grizzlies returned the favor keeping the Phoenix at 11-30 from the floor.  Green Bay guard Foster Wonders came off the bench and shot 3-4 from the three-point line in the opening 20 minutes to lead all scorers with 13 at the break.  Neither team was able to pull away and went to halftime with the Golden Grizzlies leading Green Bay 28-27.

The early part of the second half was more of the same, Oakland would pull out ahead, Green Bay would claw back and tie it up.  Noah Reynolds bookended an 11-0 run that gave the Phoenix the game’s 15th and final lead change.  Oakland was able to narrow the lead down to 5, before Green Bay put the game away.

For the game, Noah Reynolds was held to only eight points, well below his 19.1 ppg average that is good for 45th in the country.  However, Foster Wonders put up a career high of 19 points including 5-6 from behind the three-point arc.  Richard Byhre and Williams Eames both dropped 14 points to lead the Phoenix to the win.

With the win, Green Bay now leads the #HLMBB standings by a half game and host Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon, scheduled for a 12pm CT tip off from the Resch Center.
