Now that players have been able to pick any jersey number of their choosing since last year, we decided that since there’s enough of pictures floating around, we could post a countdown with images of the players wearing the number of the days left until the starter of the 2024-25 season.
And because of that, we’re also coming up with a contest with prizes!
There will be a first and second prize for this, and here’s what the winners will get:
First Prize: Your choice of a HoriZone Roundtable or Horizon’s Gonna Horizon t-shirt
Second Prize: A HoriZone Roundtable mug
There rules are as follows:
Everyday, we’ll count down to the start of the season and it will feature a picture of a Horizon League player.
We’ll post this on Twitter, Threads and Bluesky, so if you follow us on any of those platforms you’ll see it.

The last picture will post at 9am ET on the first day of the season (11/4). After that, complete the form at the end of this page (this will appear at 9am ET on 11/4). Enter you guesses for which player we featured each day, plus the tiebreaker: how many points will Oakland score vs. Defiance.
Submissions will be cut off at 7pm ET. Any submissions after that won’t count. We’ll review all the submissions and announce the winner at noon ET on 11/5.
Winners will be notified. When contacted, please provide a shipping address. For first prize winners, choose your t-shirt and provide a size as well.
