Trading Indianapolis for Moon Township, RMU has announced Keith Oddo as the newest addition to the Robert Morris men’s basketball coaching staff.
This comes a month after the addition of forward DeSean Goode to the roster, who announced his commitment to the Colonials in May, also making the trade from the Jaguars. Goode is a three-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week honoree and was part of the All-Freshman Team.
Oddo joins head coach Andy Toole alongside assistant coaches Kim Lewis, Anthony Richards, and Matthew Street. He arrives after two seasons spent at Horizon League rival IU Indianapolis, where the team won its most number of games since the 2018-19 season. Oddo has proven successful in working with guards and perimeter players, helping shape two of the Horizon League’s top 10 scorers in guards Paul Zilinskas and Jarvis Walker.
Before joining IU Indy, he spent two seasons at Bridgewater College improving the team’s defense and helping them achieve their best Old Dominion Athletic Conference finish since 2009. Oddo developed standout players like point guard Shod Smith, who earned All-ODAC Second Team honors and ranked second in assists and steals. He also guided Alec Topper to become the program’s first player with back-to-back All-Conference honors.
In 2019–21, Oddo was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Akron, working closely with 2024 NBA Draft pick Enrique Freeman. He also gained NBA experience in the summer of 2021 as a Summer League Team Assistant with the Brooklyn Nets. Oddo currently still serves as an assistant coach for “The Ville,” Louisville’s team in The Basketball Tournament (TBT).
Oddo is no stranger to the student-athlete experience, with firsthand experience playing as a guard throughout his time in school. He finished his collegiate career at Louisville in 2019-20 when the Cardinals earned the No. 1 national ranking. Prior to becoming a Cardinal, he played four years at Richmond, having earned a scholarship following his start as a walk-on.
With Oddo completing the staff’s lineup, RMU’s coaching team is rounded up and ready to tackle the upcoming season.
