Earlier today, it was announced that Andrea Holden – a freshman on the Wright State Raiders men’s basketball team – was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.
Originally supposed to redshirt the entire year, head coach Clint Sargent chose to switch things up and it looks like it definitely paid off. Holden, a 6-6 wing from Hamilton, Ohio, made his NCAA debut a memorable one in Wright State’s 74-51 win at home last Thursday night against the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix. In 22 minutes off the bench for the Raiders, Holden scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting to go along with seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
The green and gold will remain at home and host the defending undisputed Horizon League Champions, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, this upcoming Thursday night for a 7ET start time at the Nutter Center.
