Milwaukee easily takes down rival Green Bay to go 2-0 in conference play

No broken cameras, arguments, or issues this time around. The Milwaukee Panthers simply took Green Bay to the woodshed in an 88-67 blowout win in Green Bay. Milwaukee ran away from the Phoenix in the second half during a 30-13 run to put the matter to rest. All hands were on deck for this rivalry game.

Coach Bart Lundy stated, “We got unbelievable contributions up and down the lineup.” The Panthers knew this was a grudge match and treated it like it was all game. Jamicheal Stillwell, “The Grim Reaper” is still being sought after by authorities in Brown County for his behavior Wednesday night.

Stillwell’s crime was a ridiculous and record-breaking 24 points and 19 rebound effort. The latter is a program record and propelled him to No. 1 in the nation in rebounding. Kentrell “KP” Pullian continued his revenge tour in the conference with an 18-point, 8 rebound effort. AJ McKee scored 10 points and dished out 3 assists and Erik Pratt poured in 12 off the bench. Themus Fulks led the team with 8 assists. Green Bay’s Anthony Roy (also returning) and Marcus Hall contributed 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 18 points and 6 rebounds, respectively.

The Great:

Stillwell, Stillwell, Stillwell. A great Hoops historian and philosopher in Toronto, Dr. Leonard, once said, “Board Man gets paid.” The Rim Reaper is securing post-season honors and a career in the profession based on his glass work so far this season.

Tee Grizzley’s First Day Out: Erik Pratt returned after a month layoff and chipped in 12 points off the bench. His presence was a much-needed sight for Panther fans.

Damn Duff: Along with Stillwell, Darius Duffy bullied the Phoenix for 8 points, 7 rebounds, and blocked one shot into the stands.

The Bad

Nothing stood out to the naked eye.

Analytics:

  • Rebounding: Milwaukee currently ranks 7th in the nation for rebound margin, averaging 42.1 rebounds per game while holding opponents to 29.6 rebounds per game, resulting in a dominant margin of +12.
  • Lethal Weapon 3: The Panther’s trio of starting guards have been controlling every aspect of the game this season. The guards collectively grabbed 22.8% of the team’s total rebounds while combining for 46.1% of the team’s offensive boards. The trio also contributed 63.1% of the team’s total points
  • Last but certainly not least, the Panthers scored 27 points off turnovers.

Next up: Milwaukee plays Akron this Sunday at the house that Giannis built, The Fiserv Forum. Tip-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
